Shredding

Branch shredder

Logo of Emondage Saint-Bruno
If you've had work done on your trees, chances are you'll end up with unwanted debris. Or you may be one of the many homeowners who have accumulated branches over the years. A good way to get rid of a pile of branches, regardless of its origin, is to have it shredded.

Shredding is the process of transforming the remains from pruning, pruning or felling into smaller pieces. To do so requires a shredder, i.e. a special device designed for this operation.

It doesn't matter if we have done any preliminary work or if you only have a pile of branches to remove, we can go and shred them.

Who would like to have more time at their disposal?

There is another important advantage of switching from branches to a chipper: it takes so much less time than with your chainsaw! In addition to taking time, if you do it on your own, there is another factor to consider: you will have to take it all to a designated disposal area. So imagine how much time you can save with a specialized company that has the necessary equipment.

Avoid attracting insects and fungi

You might think, "Who cares if I have a bunch of branches? After all, it will rot on its own. That's true. But it takes time. And it makes mushrooms grow too. It's not very reassuring when you have young children, or even pets. You also know that your pile of branches creates a microclimate that is very attractive to insects, hedgehogs, porcupines, skunks and raccoons. How happy they will be when you leave such a comfortable den for them! But you, you will be much less delighted, it goes without saying.

Would you be in favour of a small additional piece of land?

Two other benefits are quickly said, but they provide something of great value: space. For example, by having your unsightly branch shredded, you free up a portion of your land that you could no longer use. It's as if you've just acquired an extra piece. Also, remember, this freeing up of space is also a safer situation, because of course, a pile of branches can cause injury to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Find another use

A heap of branches in the middle of the city is not very useful. But the reduction produced by a chipper makes it possible to find a new use for all this wood. But what is it exactly?

Hardwoods are useful for a variety of purposes: to enrich your compost or as a protective layer in your garden landscaping. In the case of softwoods, because of their acid content, they can be used to prevent the proliferation of unwanted weeds or, even if this use is not given to everyone, it can be spread on forest roads if there is enough volume.

Shredding is therefore an excellent way to give a second life to your wood while getting rid of a cumbersome problem. Of course, all these benefits remain valid if the wood comes from a felling, pruning or pruning that we have done for you! However, if you really don't see any reason to keep the chips, we will leave with them; that's all.

Do the work yourself?

If you feel you can rent the equipment and shred everything yourself, in order to save money, read this first, as it is not without risk. In fact, the shredder is a really dangerous piece of equipment to use. Its use can cause serious injuries. It's really not advisable if you've never used one before. Your risk will only be higher. As far as we are concerned, our team uses it every day. The risk is greatly reduced.

Consider also that on a concrete plan, your vehicle will have to have a transport ball. This is normal, since this device is big and heavy. In addition, the rental will cost you a lot of money. Something like $200 every day. Do you really want to go through all this inconvenience and risk these dangers? Make a wise decision and have our accustomed employees at Emondage Saint-Bruno do the work instead. For a free estimate, you can call us at 450-600-4545 or fill out our form at the top right.
